SRC Technology Solutions Offices
Description
The new office for SRC Technology Solutions was the third phase of a campus renovation, following the historic tax credit rehabilitation of the adjacent 19th century Freight Depot. The overall design solution called for a clear contrast between new and old, not just for the architectural significance of the structure next door but also to render a suitably sleek and contemporary office environment for this leading 21st century technology company. The renovation incorporated sensible design strategies and contemporary materials to reflect the company’s commitment to efficiency and high-tech solutions. To name a few qualities of the design, the project includes low wattage lighting, high efficiency mechanical systems, ample interior glazing for maximum daylight, and recycled carpet tile. Extensive use of exposed metal, such as for mezzanine railings, door track hardware, stair structure, and an interior overhead glass garage door, combined with warmth and color splashed throughout the design with doors, backsplashes, carpet, and wood treads create a comfortable but cool environment suitable for a high-tech company.
